“environments”
Eng
1-colour risograph, 29,7 x 18 cm
44 pages, hand-folded and bound
200 numbered copies
Published by ATLAS Projectos
October 2019

Eleven “environments” released over eleven years, starting with the ocean surf in 1969 and ending with a blizzard in 1979. This was the first record series to successfully market ambient sound recordings to a broad audience in the United States, with the purpose of being used as a mood enhancer and stress reliever. This publication brings together all the liner notes to the albums and their respective cover art, alongside an essay by the series’ creator Irv Teibel from 1984. Accompanied with an essay by Nuno da Luz on why Teibel pronounced that “the music of the future isn’t music”, and its links to Tony Conrad and the New York avant-garde of the time.

for The Colouring Book, a project by Milano Art Guide

"To help make distancing and containment a little less burdensome in these challenging times, Rossella Farinotti and Gianmaria Biancuzzi invited contemporary artists from different generations to create “The Colouring Book”. Everyone from home can browse it, download the A4-sized drawings to their devices or print them".
